Before your first match, and before any bonus is paid, you verify a phone number. Here is what that is and is not.
What it is. A text message with a code, valid for ten minutes. One verified number per account. The phone is a verification step, never a login: you still sign in with your email or Google account.
Why. One person, one account is the rule that keeps the boards honest and the pots fair. A phone number is the cheapest thing that is hard to have two of.
What is accepted. Mobile numbers, and VoIP numbers tied to a physical address. Include your country code, starting with +.
What is refused, and the message you will see.
- Landlines: “Landline numbers cannot receive text messages. Use a mobile number.”
- Internet phone numbers: “Internet phone numbers (VoIP apps and virtual numbers) are not accepted. Use a mobile number.”
- Toll-free, premium, shared-cost and similar: “… are not accepted. Use a mobile number.”
- A number already verified on another account: refused with a plain message.
- A number from a banned account: “This phone number cannot be used on TOURNAMENT.” That block is permanent.
Bonuses. Your 100 sign-up points, and any referral points, are paid once the number is verified.
Trouble receiving the code? Wait for the ten minutes to pass and request another. Check the country code. If the number is a mobile and it still fails, post in Help & FAQ with the country (not the number).
