A recap of the first week, for anyone who joined after launch.
5 September: launch
- TOURNAMENT launched as a points product. Free to play, points for kills, daily and lifetime boards.
- 63 server locations live, one game server per location.
6 September: the LAN-feel program
- Reconnect in place. If your connection drops, your seat is held for 20 seconds. You stay in the map, frozen, still a target, and your frags, deaths, points and streak come back with the socket. Rejoin from the servers list and take the same seat.
- Hits feel instant. Hit feedback is predicted on your machine instead of waiting a round trip. Interpolation dropped from three tics to two. Mouse look runs at frame rate, not tick rate.
- Faster loading. Map data is compressed and cached in the browser, so cold starts are seconds shorter.
- Kill feed on the site’s Activity page, live across every server.
- Weapon accuracy on profiles. Shots, hits, accuracy, kills and shots per kill, per weapon, over today, 7 days, 30 days, a year and lifetime. Counted from 6 September. A shot is one trigger pull; a pull that lands on an opponent is a hit, however many pellets it took.
- Friends went live: send a request, they accept, you see where they are playing and can join the same room.
7 September
- Challenges went live. Stake points, duel one player, first to 10, 20 or 30 kills. Winner takes 95 percent.
- Eight seats on every map with at least eight deathmatch starts. MAP01 stays at six.
- Weapon pickup fix. Picking up a lower weapon never switches you down, and the invisible-but-collectable weapon bug is gone for every weapon.
- Terms of Service and Privacy Policy published.
8 September
- K/D rule change. Your in-map K/D is kills divided by deaths, with deaths counted as at least one. It used to be kills divided by deaths plus one. You need five kills on the map before you are ranked.
11 September
- Whole-number kill values. Fist, pistol and chainsaw 5; shotgun and super shotgun 4; chaingun 3; rocket 2; plasma and BFG 1.
- Sign-up bonus of 100 points for every new account.
- Referral program. Your code is @ plus your username. 100 points to you and 100 to them, with daily and lifetime limits.
- Send points to a friend from their profile, up to 1,000 points per gift.
- X and Discord links in the site footer.
